Behind the Federal Badge

    • Silence does not create change. Awareness can.

This blog was created to give a voice to federal employees who feel unheard, overlooked, or treated unfairly in the workplace.

Federal employees dedicate their careers to serving the American public. In return, they should be able to expect a workplace where policies are followed consistently, employees are treated with dignity, and requests for reasonable accommodation are handled fairly and in good faith.

Unfortunately, the reality can sometimes be very different.

This blog will discuss issues affecting federal employees, including reasonable accommodations, disability-related workplace concerns, telework, employee rights, workplace morale, accountability, grievance and EEO processes, and the challenges employees can face when trying to advocate for themselves.

The purpose of this site is not to attack individual employees, supervisors, agencies, or organizations. It is to bring attention to systemic problems, encourage accountability, share experiences, and help federal employees understand that their concerns deserve to be heard.

Whenever possible, identifying information will be removed or changed to protect the privacy of the people involved. Posts may reflect personal experiences and opinions and should not be considered legal advice.

Federal service should represent fairness, integrity, accountability, and respect. When those principles are not being upheld, employees should be able to speak about it.

Silence does not create change. Awareness can.
